Attendant Busy-out (Console) places your attendant console in a busy-out condition (Operator Absent mode). This can be done manually from the console or automatically by setting a timer that forces the console Absent after a period of inactivity.
In the busy-out condition, incoming calls are automatically rerouted (see Call Rerouting).
NOTE: Disconnecting the handset or headset cable from the 5540 IP Console does not switch the console to Absent mode.
Complete calls in progress before you busy-out your attendant console. Calls in progress include calls on Hold, queued calls, and recalls.
The last attendant console in the system cannot be busied-out; however, it can go into a night service mode (see Night Service).
You can still originate calls from a busied-out attendant console.
You cannot busy-out an attendant console when you are involved in a message waiting function.
In single-console situations or when all attendant consoles except the last attendant console have been busied-out, the following conditions apply:
When the attendant console goes into "Operator Absent" mode, three audible beeps are delivered to indicate that the transition to absent mode has taken place.
The system goes into night service mode.
Pending calls are rerouted to designated answer points.
Calls indicated in the SRC and DEST fields are handled as if the attendant had pressed CANCEL.
Any calls remaining in a hold position are left as is.
In multi-console situations, the following conditions apply:
All pending calls handled only by the busied-out attendant console are rerouted to designated answer points.
All pending calls which appear on other attendant consoles in addition to the busied-out attendant console are removed from the busied-out console's display, but they are not rerouted.
Complete the programming in Call Rerouting.
